About Diabase
We started Diabase because we kept running into the same problem: European companies forced to choose between powerful AI tooling and control over their data.
That's not a real choice. If your users are in Europe, your data should be governed by European law. If your industry has strict compliance requirements, your AI tools should support that out of the box — not as an enterprise add-on you negotiate for months.
Most AI infrastructure today runs through US-based providers, subject to the Cloud Act and surveillance legislation that directly conflicts with European privacy law. We're building the alternative.
The name comes from diabase — a dense, resilient igneous rock found across Scandinavia. It's what foundations are made of. That felt right for what we're building.

We want to help Europe compete in AI. Not by following what others build, but by creating infrastructure that's worth choosing on its own merits. Fast, private, and simple enough to get out of your way.
What we care about
AI infrastructure should be subject to the laws that protect your users, not foreign surveillance legislation. We build so that data stays under your jurisdiction, fully within the EU, with no third-country dependencies.
We build on open models and open standards wherever we can. No lock-in, no black boxes. If you want to leave, you take your data with you. We think that's how it should work.
Good infrastructure gets out of your way. You should be thinking about your product, not fighting ours. We keep things minimal, well-documented, and predictable.
Europe can lead in AI, not just regulate it. We're here to push the pace — fast infrastructure, quick iteration, no unnecessary process. Sovereignty shouldn't come at the cost of being slow.
